Do everything without complaining…

Complaining… it’s a common pastime in our world…
I think about my own recent complaints…
They are self-centered… self-focused… and really… self-indulgent…
It’s no wonder His followers are called NOT to complain… EVER…
I think about complaints I’ve made about things He’s called me to…
Grumblings over things gone wrong… not enough time… it takes too long… (or so it seems…)
And I realize when we grumble… complain… whine… we are anything but light…
We darken the world… make His way seem pain-full… unpleasant… joy-less… when we are discontent with where He’s placed us in His sovereignty…
He’s shining light on my complaints…
I see now… how they can be stumbling blocks to those around me…
Those who don’t yet know Him…
So care-full we must be with words and attitudes…
In every complaint… there is a backdrop of unfaithfulness…
No matter the circumstance… He’s placed us in it to bring light… and for His purpose…
Whatever you do… no complaining…
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Hmm… I have to practice this one…
Lord Jesus… I can’t… but You can… Amen…
