In the reading through with sisters… we’ve come to James…
A book I’m familiar with… yet… in the first few verses… He reveals a facet of His wisdom… I’d not seen before…
But if you any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5 NASB
It struck me as I watched a show… people trying to cover up sin… making bigger messes in the process…
Unfortunately… I could relate… thought of my own past cover-ups… each making matters worse…
King David came to mind… trying to cover-up his sin…
When we rely on our own wisdom… in the midst of sin… well… we just make it worse…
Then He showed me…
Seeking wisdom… without fear of reproach… ridicule… disapproval… rebuke… means we can bring our sin-full messes to Him… for the wisdom in what to do next…
No spiritual spanking will be given…
No mental tongue lashing will come…
No eternal sigh of disappointment will issue forth from the heavens…
Just wisdom and grace…
If we humble ourselves… recognize the mess we’ve made… not try to clean it up ourselves… and trust Him with what we’ve done…
Our heavenly Father is waiting… to lovingly lead us out of the mess… with His perfect wisdom…
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
