We must not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.

Sometimes… doing what is right… is not pleasing to self…
Sometimes… helping others… building them up as the Lord calls us to… does not please the ones we are helping…
Sometimes… the call to do what is right… is just hard…
Planting His Word in hard places… makes one want to quit… because maybe you’re not doing it well… or doing it right…
But the Word in worship today… reminds… it doesn’t have to please me… to please Him…
And it doesn’t have to please others… to be good for them…
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life.
