Hope fuels faith…
Without hope… there is no faith…
There is no being sure of what you hope for… if you have no hope…
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead… In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith — more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire — may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1Peter 1:3, 6-7 ESV
Father God… in His GREAT MERCY… caused us to be reborn… into a living hope… through the crucifixion… death… and resurrection… of Jesus…
In this living hope… there is great JOY…
Despite trials… we have joy… because of hope in Christ…
The joy in the trials comes from the testing of faith…
The testing of faith requires hope…
Faith tried… in fiery trials… is what brings greater glory to Jesus at His return…
Greater faith… greater glory…
Now listen… hope fuels the faith…
The trials are the reason we need hope…
I’ve thought about it recently… and it seems most of my hopes… are because there are trials… to one degree or another… things not quite right… things not as they were meant to be… things I hope will change…
The shift I’m currently making about hope… helps me to see the trials as reasons to hope…
Hope… fuels the faith which is tried in the trials… and is the only way our faith can be purified…
Hope empowers us to endure faith-fully… so He can receive greater glory when He returns…
Losing hope… means losing faith…
Seeing things as hope-less… denies the power of His resurrection… and steals His glory…
I find greater reason to hope in the midst of trials these days… because I see them as fuel for faith… which makes the way for His GREATER GLORY…
When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.
