Yesterday’s struggle with doubt and discouragement… is wholly dissolved today… through provision of His confirmation…
Yet… confirmation didn’t come until I committed to what I believed He called me to… even in the difficulty… of moving forward…
And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
Exodus 3:12 NIV
These were God’s words to Moses when Moses asked what qualified him to bring the people out of Egypt…
God said His presence with him… qualified him… but he wouldn’t get the sign… the confirmation… until after it was done…
Faith… God puts a lot of emphasis in our living by faith in Him…
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
Hebrews 11:1-2 NIV
Faith… confidence in a hope yet fulfilled… certainty about what is unseen… this is the faith the ancients… like Moses… were commended for…
Why would we think it would be any different for us…
But just as Moses struggled… so do I…
“What if they do not believe me or listen to me…”
Exodus 4:1 NIV
Well… that’s not really the point…
The outcome of what He calls us to is not our responsibility… it is His…
So hopefully… next time… at least in this continuing endeavor… discouragement and doubt is done…
He is with me… and in that… I should always be encouraged…
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
2Thessalonians 2:16-17 NIV
And so should you be… encouraged…
