I saw it on the drive home…
It was a full rainbow… I hadn’t seen one in a while…
Turning my heart to His promises… remembering His bow in the sky is a reminder of His covenant with creation…
Once home… I opened up Genesis to remind myself of His Word…
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature on earth.”
Genesis 9:12-16 ESV
Well color me surprised…!
What I remembered as being a reminder for us… is actually set in place as a reminder for Him…
What a glorious thing to think… when we see a rainbow in the sky… He remembers us and His promise not to flood the earth to death again…
In all our mess… He reminds Himself… He’s made a promise…
And we too… can be reminded of His grace… and the blessing of His remembering us…
