I wonder… at His stooping low…
The Creator… against whom we rebelled…
He came to make us great…
Above all, look up to Jesus Christ your Intercessor, and ask yourself, while He pleads, can your Father deal ungraciously with you? If He remembers even sparrows, will He forget one of the least of His poor children?
—Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening
But this time of year… I say… look down… into the manger where He stooped… making Himself a poor child…
How can the Father deal ungraciously…? When He sent His only Son… to be poor with you…? to be poor for you…?
His crucifixion… became His shield of victory… over sin… and death…
A shield… He offers to us… to you… and me…
A wonder… this stooping low…
Perhaps we should consider… stooping low… for someone this season… laying down our own life… out of love… to lift them up… make them great…?
