Christmas: the Day After

It’s not over, it’s just beginning!

Too often, we’re too eager to leave Christmas in the rearview mirror.
It’s over. move on. time to gear up for the new year.

But Christmas is not something to get past — it’s a Beginning!
The beginning of Christ’s Communion — God with us!

Don’t leave Jesus in the manger this year.
Remember it’s the opening chapter of the gospel — the Good News story.

In reality, it’s an unfinished story,
one we’re dropped into the middle of.

Christ has died (because He was born and laid in a manger).
Christ is risen (having died for our sins because He had none of His own).
Christ will come again.

We’re waiting for His return,
living between “risen” and “come again.”

It’s the year of the Lord’s favor, for those who believe,
those who discover and experience the Babe in the hay,

Stuck between sin and grace, living by faith —
it’s sanctification we are pursuing.

In Communion with Him — growing in grace,
only by the power of His Spirit and faith.

So don’t leave Jesus in the manger this year,
let Him grow up in your heart, live out the rest of His story all year!
