Intimacy… it’s not a word I thought I would ever use in terms of my relationship with God… but over the last several weeks… months… I see clear evidence of an intimate relationship with Him…
And Yes… I know He knows me perfectly… but for He and I to have talks and words and ways… which we have only with one another…? like your best friend…? or your spouse…?
It’s just not something I thought possible… well maybe possible… but probable…
Why in the world…?
would He want such a relationship with me…?!
Yet… recently… in trying to relay things He’s shared with me… I realize for others to understand… I must explain past incidents and conversations… He and I have had as I’ve walked with Him these twenty-some-odd years…
And isn’t it a wonder…? an absolute mind-boggling wonder…? how He reaches out… to connect with those who have rebelled and rejected His love…? all for the chance to have an intimate… close… one… and… only… unique… relationship… with one of His dear creatures… created in His image…?
My oh my…
It really is just too much…
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Psalm 8:3-4 ESV
