making a case…

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…

Ephesians 4:15 ESV

Sometimes… a case must be made for truth…

As human beings… our capacity for self-deception seems unlimited…

We say one thing… but our actions speak another… something totally out of line with what we say we believe…

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?

Jeremiah 17:9 ESV

So sometimes… when words and actions collide… a case must be made for truth… to reveal… and hopefully reconcile… the discrepancy…

It is in the seeing… hearing… incongruencies… where truth reveals a need to repent…

Then unity… true unity in the Holy Spirit… can be restored… within an individual… and within a community…

When we see our need for reconciliation… based on the truth of our lifelong discrepancies… Jesus makes a case for us before the Father…

He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

Hebrews 7:25 NLT

intercede… to intervene between two parties with a view to reconciling differences: mediate

–Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 11th Ed.

Standing at the right hand of God… He intercedes… based on the truth of what He has done… and not our incongruencies…

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Romans 7:24-25 ESV

Praise Him for making us right… showing us right… that we might see… and know…

the Way…

the Truth…

the Life…

1 thought on “making a case…”

  1. “As human beings… our capacity for self-deception seems unlimited…” So very true. The ‘self’ nature does have unlimited capacity to inflict blindness on its possessor.
