“…If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. …
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. …”
John 15:10, 12 ESV
Jesus says… Keep my commandments… love one another…
There is no need to feel love… really for either God or others… all He asks is that we do love… like He does…
Seeing to others’ needs above our own… loving others simply because they are precious to Him… and His Father…
I read some words this morning which helped flesh out His words…
The rule for all of us is perfectly simple. Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbour; act as as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.
–CS Lewis, Mere Christianity
Just do it… love others… no matter whether you feel it or not…

When we obey His commands… Love one another as I have loved you… we will begin to abide… live in… experience… feel… His love…
How often we get this backwards… believing we need to feel the emotion… in order to love…
It’s just not true…
Love… it’s about doing… not feeling…
Who is He calling you to love today…?
Love is not love without feet and hands.
