For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; nor has He hidden His face from him; but when he cried to Him for help, He heard.

…the affliction of the afflicted…
At the heart of all our affliction is sin…
Our own sins against ourselves… and the sins of others against us…
When we recognize our affliction we often despise ourselves… or those who have harmed us…
How could I have been so stupid…!
And how often do we see God seeing us the same way we see ourselves… despised… hated… because we were so foolish…?
But that’s not what He sees…
He sees the affliction of the afflicted… He doesn’t hide His face from us…
He waits… for us to cry out to Him…
And when we cry… He hears…
Today… know that you are seen…
You are loved and not despised…
Cry out to Him…
He’s waiting…
The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all that he has made.
