I have a confession… I lost my car in the Walmart parking lot…

I know… just like one of those old people… wandering… looking confused…
On my way into the store I saw one… a man clearly doubting… wondering where his car was… so I took mental note of where I parked… the numbered signs at the end of the rows… thinking… I don’t want to be that man…
But lo and behold… on exiting the store… confident about where I parked… because I noted the number of the row… my vehicle wasn’t there…
I began to doubt myself… but I wasn’t going to look like it…!
Walking with purpose up and down the rows of cars… not seeing mine… I marched back toward the store…
As I walked… with much purpose… no doubt… I thought about which door I entered… where I went first… and remembered… Yes… I parked on the opposite side of the parking lot…
At least I was pretty sure… walking on with purpose… hopefully looking like I had no doubt of where I was going…
And yes… I found my car…
When I heard the James verse in worship yesterday…
Don’t doubt…
the lost car incident came to mind…
However… not in relation to finding my car in a parking lot… but in my walk with God…
He’s leading me to new places these days… places which make me doubt… because I don’t know what I’m doing… unsure of next steps and how to proceed…
Spiritually I look like the man who didn’t remember where he parked… wandering… pausing… scanning… wondering… What am I doing…?! Where am I going…?!
Insecurities and self-consciousness rise in my heart… stirring up doubt…
So I hear God through James… Go in faith… with no doubting…
And the image of me comes to mind… marching with purpose… pushing my cart… going I know not where…
No doubt… even when I don’t know how… or where… or what… I can march with God… because when I don’t know… He does…
No doubt… does not mean we know… it means we trust Him… have our faith in Him… His purpose… His plan… His preparations along the way…
The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
2Chronicles 16:9 NLT
No doubt… I hear Him saying take steps of faith… take a stance of confidence…. despite how you feel…
Because when we doubt… we wander… get confused… discouraged… and don’t go…
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land…
Hebrews 11:8-9 ESV
By faith… I will walk… focused… purposed… to do… what I don’t know… and cannot see… in a realm foreign to me…
Trusting Him… not me…
No doubt…
