The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north and south. … for the four chief gatekeepers who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God.

The reading through of Chronicles brings me to these verses… and they capture my attention…
The chief gatekeepers… Levites… priests… were entrusted… with the keeping of the treasures in the house of God…
And I consider the new covenant Believers’ role as priests… gatekeepers of the treasuries of the house of God… which is now our hearts…
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?
1Corinthians 6:19 ESV
As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood…
2Peter 2:4-5 ESV
As priests of the new covenant… we too are entrusted as gatekeepers of God’s great treasures…
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

His people… His priests… are entrusted with the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in Jesus… the great treasure of the gospel…
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places…
Ephesians 1:3 ESV
The treasure entrusted to us also includes every spiritual blessing in heaven… supernatural… eternal… treasures…
We are gatekeepers of His great glory… found in Jesus… with the deposit of the Holy Spirit…
And what is at the heart of the great treasure of the gospel…?
Love…
In Christ… love is the great treasure God has entrusted to Believers…
Loving Him… who loved us first…
And loving others… in His name…
Have you ever considered love as a great treasure…? one which you’ve been entrusted with…?
How are you doing…? as a gatekeeper entrusted with His love…?
