…declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts.

His law… written on the heart… how does this happen…?
It happens… when we recognize and receive… His fulfilling of the law… through love…
He loves us first…
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 NIV
He shows His love by sending His Son… Jesus… to fulfill the law… the law of sin and death…
On the cross… Jesus died to fulfill the debt we all owe… the debt of death incurred by our sins…
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
1John 2:2 NIV
He paid the price we couldn’t bear to pay… without dying…
He had no sin of His own… therefore death had no hold on Him… no right to keep Him…
When we recognize His great love… receive the gift of grace by faith… believe He fulfilled the law on our behalf… it happens…
His love holding Him on the cross… ignites in us a love for Him… and suddenly we find love… has written His law on our hearts…
For never again… do we want to cause Him pain… sorrow… distress… because of our sin…
Love… the sole motivation… for pursuing holiness… for living righteousness… for getting out of His way… and letting Him live through us…
Love… writes His law… on our hearts…
We love because he first loved us.
