nun-yuh

Nun-yuh…

She said it in the course of conversation… my retelling of an incident in which I was rebuffed…

I didn’t get it… till she said it again…

That’s a nun-yuh… Nun-yuh business…

And yes… there are some things… which are none of our business…

God has some of those too… Nun-yuh‘s…

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. …”

Deuteronomy 29:29 ESV

He has some secret things… they belong to Him… and they are His business…

Actually all secret things are His…

Nothing hidden from His sight…

Before Him… all is laid bare…

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Hebrews 4:13 NIV

BUT… there are those things He reveals… and these are our business…

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

James 4:17 ESV

Sometimes we’re prone to spending too much time and energy on the nun-yuh‘s… and not enough on what has been revealed to us… those things which are our business…

What has He revealed to you lately…?

a personal sin…?

a hurting friend…?

an injustice…? unkindness…? need…?

What has He revealed to you…? to me…? to us…? that He has now made our business…? because we know…?

What is He calling us to do…? what is the right thing…?

He reveals so we can do all the words of His law… and Jesus revealed in short… the sum of all the law…

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:37-40 NIV

Love God with all your heart… and love your neighbor as yourself…

These things are our business…

Let’s rightly leave the nun-yuh‘s to Him… they are His…
