the beginning of good news…

In the morning quiet… I’m led to Mark…

I’m struck by the words… The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ…

The beginning of the good news of Jesus… Mark’s desire… the desire set on his heart by God… was to tell the story… of this Good News…

Read with me… Mark 1:1-8 … to see… to hear… this Good News…

Open up your Bible… or click the link embedded in the Scripture reference…

First came John… the preamble of the gospel… the indicator of what was to come… the preparation to receive… hear… see… what is so good about His news…

Repentance and forgiveness… this is what John preached… he baptized with water… the sign of acceptance… the preparation needed… to receive… the gospel…

“Prepare the way for the Lord, make His paths straight.”

Repentance… forgiveness…

The first necessities of preparation to recognize the news when it comes…

The mighty work of Christ on the cross is missed if we do not agree with Him regarding the definition of sin…

“He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

We cannot hear… receive… the Holy… if we have not embraced the truth of sin…

Today consider your sin…

If you don’t see any… ask Him…

If you don’t agree with Him… consider why…

The gospel is not good news… until we repent…

Change our minds about sin… and see our need for forgiveness…

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
