He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God] — yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 Amp
Yesterday’s flowers… remind me of the fleeting… fraction… of finite time we have on this earth…
A reminder we all need… with eternity planted in our hearts…
Sometimes… we simply forget… we only have a brief moment in which to please God with faith-full living…
But flowers… they remind… our time is short…
Eternity… what we were created for… is a hard concept to grasp in our temporal world…
What puts eternity into perspective…?
The night sky… speckled with stars… thousands of light years away…
The universe… ever-expanding… makes us feel small…
The seasons… coming… going… round and round… year after year… make it seems as if nothing will end… everything will stay the same…
Yet… the flowers fade… and so do we…
But our souls… are created for eternity…
Flowers remind… we have a limited time… to live eternity now…
Amen…
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
