Anticipating the new year… with more than a new word…
New endeavors on the horizon… give the enemy a platform to stir up fear…
Fear of failure…
Fear of success… (don’t laugh…)
Fear of not knowing what I’m doing…
Fear of the unknown…
The new before me… I believe… hope… is because of His leading… His calling…
But the voice of fear… makes one doubt…
My heart echoes Moses’s objections… regarding his call…
“Who am I that I should go…?” (Exodus 3:11)
“But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice…” (Exodus 4:1)
“Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” (Exodus 4:10)
So I battle to believe… to trust what I hear… and Who I know…
Then I consider the word He gave for the year…
Restore…
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 51:12 NIV
The Hebrew translated as salvation… also means… deliverance… rescue… safety… welfare… prosperity… and… victory… (Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon)
I’m reminded… to do anything He calls us to do… requires a firm understanding… that it is His salvation… His deliverance… His victory… on which we are to depend…!
Restore to me… O Lord… the joy… of Your victory… which is already won…
Bless me… with a willing spirit to sustain me…
Apart from You… and the reality of Your power… I can do nothing…
Thankful for the new word… to face the new… of the new year…
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.
Psalm 62:1 NLT
Amen…
