When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.
Jeremiah 15:16 NIV
I’ve practiced this spiritual discipline for several years now… the discipline of asking God for one word as a theme for the year…
A word to speak to my heart… bring about spiritual transformation and growth…
Well… it’s a new year… and apparently time for a new word…
This is not a discipline I’ve ever jumped into with excitement… anticipation…
It’s not something I think about as the year starts and excitedly ask… What’s my new word for the year…?
But… if He brings it to mind… wants to bless me with a word… when it comes… I take it…
This year… the word He unexpectedly gives…
RESTORE
With the word… a Scripture follows close behind…
Restore to me the joy of my salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.
Psalm 51:12-13 ESV
Wondering now… what He wants to restore… in me… to me… through me…
Time will tell… as it always does… just what He wants to reveal to me… through a word…
Consider asking Him for a word this year…
If you get one… I’d love for you to share it with me…
At the bottom of each post there is a comment box… send it to me as a reply…
