The power of prayer… I saw it today…
The power to touch a heart… bring one to tears… right in the middle of ordering take out across a counter…
It all began with the ministry button still pinned to my jacket…
She commented on it so I offered…? How can I pray for you…? Can I pray for you now…?
With her slight nod… I leaned over the counter… took her hands… and prayed… Father God… then I asked her name…
She couldn’t speak… emotion welled… she ran…
When she returned… she asked another to wait on us…
The one with me asked what happened…
I made her cry…
By the time our order was ready… she had it together…
She gave us our food with a smile… and said… My dad is so sick… I’m worried about him…
I’ll pray… I said as we took our food and left…
To offer prayer… is the power to touch a heart…
To show care… offer hope in the name of the Creator…
To get to the heart of what’s happening in another person’s life… even one you’ve never met before…
I encourage you to become wholly comfortable with bringing the power of prayer into the lives of those you encounter throughout your day…
It’s something the world cannot offer…
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick (weary), and the Lord will raise him up.
James 5:15
