The angel told the shepherds… the birth of Jesus would be good news… a great joy for all people… He is the Messiah…
Mary pondered what they said…
What did Mary think about this good news…? did it seem like good news in the moment…?
Months of emotional upheaval as her family realized she was pregnant… before the wedding…
Who in her family received the news as good…?
Thank God for Elizabeth…
God speaks a word… then leaves us to wait… trust… be faith-full… even when the word turns our lives upside-down…
Father… can You take this cup from me…? Not my will but Yours…
What did Mary ponder as she endured the physical changes… discomforts… of pregnancy… not to mention the labor… on the floor of a barn… where she delivered with only Joseph’s help…
O… thank God for Joseph… a man whose faith was greater than his pride…
How great was Joseph all these months… taking her as his wife… protecting her… caring for her… loving her… without any of the intimate benefits of marriage… at least not yet…
Was this baby good news…? a great joy to all people…? when there was no room for them to stay in all Bethlehem…?
What did these angels know…? that she didn’t…?
Why did they tell shepherds…? Why did the shepherds come tell me…? I’m so glad they did…
Have you pondered…? treasured…? the good news of Jesus…?
Is He good news to you…? even if your present circumstances aren’t…?
Thank God… He’s good news to me…!
