Sometimes… no matter how hard we try… or intend to act honorably… we miss the mark…
I did it today… miscalculated… misjudged… when it came to serving with excellence…
Reflecting on what happened… I see where I attempted to please everyone… be all things to all people… fully and timely… all by myself…
Not wanting any to wait longer than needed… I offended the one who came first… thinking I could take care of the second in short order… but no… a major miscalculation…
I failed to embrace my finitude… my limited ability to keep anyone from being inconvenienced…
Really if you come down to it… a pride issue…
Ugh…!
Next time… I know what to do… I have a plan… right up front… confess my limitation… explain… there will be a wait… you will be inconvenienced… I’m sorry… but there’s only one of me today…
And I think about Him… who easily sees to all our needs… all the time… no limit to His grace… mercy… help… and ability to honor all perfectly…
Embracing my finitude… and hoping for grace… from the one I offended… which was the last thing I intended…
