While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
Mark 5:35-36 ESV
The synagogue official came to Jesus as his last hope… his daughter dying… he fell at Jesus’s feet and begged Him to come lay hands on her…
On the way… He was stopped in His tracks by a woman who also saw Him as her last hope… her only means of healing from twelve years of dis-ease…
Twelve years of doctors visits who only made things worse… and drained her finances dry…
By faith… she came up behind Him… touched His garment… and found herself healed…
Jesus feeling healing power leave Him… stopped to see whose faith had touched Him…
It was here… when the news came to the synagogue official… Your daughter is dead…
Before he could even process what was said… Jesus said… Believe…
And believe he must have… for he took Jesus to his house… where the mourners were wailing… until Jesus told them the girl was just sleeping…
Then laughter erupted…
Jesus went to the little girl… dead in her bed…
Taking her hand… He said… Get up…
And get up she did…
He’s never too late…
Never…
Not the doctor’s diagnosis… There is no healing here…
Not even death…
Is too late… for Jesus to save…
That’s the wonder of His resurrection power…
There is always hope…
He is always on time…
Never too late…
Are you feeling as if it’s too late for a circumstance in your life…? in the life of a loved one…?
Too late for change…? too late for healing…? too late for anything other than the way things are…?
Think again…
It’s not what He’s about…
Even if the world laughs at your hope… your faith…
It’s not too late to ask…
Do not be afraid… Believe…
No telling how He will show up and bring His healing power…
