“… Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear?…” –Jesus
Mark 8:18 ESV
I have eyes… even wear corrective lenses to improve sight…
Yet at the shop… I experienced having eyes which do not see…
Not once… but twice… I misplaced items…
Things I use repeatedly throughout the day… and they just… disappeared…
After wandering around… looking… I finally saw them… when I stopped looking…
They were still in my work area… but I had laid them down without thought… in places I don’t usually set them…
My expectations… preconceived idea of their location… and thoughtlessness in action… blinded me from seeing…
Many miss seeing Him because they’ve ruled out His possibility… by their own understanding… their own preconceived ideas… and expectations…
Many see no hope… no way… in a desperate circumstance or situation… and become blind to the way… which makes the way…
Do you have eyes to see…? Or are you blinding yourself with pride…? doubt…? a hard heart…?
It’s a terrible thing to have eyes that don’t see…
You wander and waste time… become frustrated and hopeless… wondering… What in the world happened…?
Ask Him for eyes to see… for ears to hear… to enable you… to make your way through this dark world…
Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”
