storms…

Storms…

Jeremiah'sMenu-Storm-Awesome

They come into life… large… unavoidable… out of our control…

The one before me loomed… yet I had no fear… which surprised me…

I didn’t know what those dark clouds held… lightning… great gusts of wind… potential destruction in its path…

Something completely outside my control…

But I drove toward the storm without fear… not even the least hint of anxiety…

I wondered… Why…?

Ah… because I know the One who holds the storm…

Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable. For he draws up the drops of water; they distill in his mist in rain, which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly. Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion? Behold, he scatters his lightning about him and covers the roots of the sea. For by these he judges peoples; he gives food in abundance. He covers his hands with the lightning and commands it to strike the mark. Its crashing declares his presence; the cattle also declare that he rises.

Job 36:26-33 ESV

Do you see it…?

The crashing of the storm… declares His presence…

That’s the source of the peace which surprised…

The trusting… the understanding… the surrendering… to the storm declaring His presence… His power… His uncontrollable… uncontainable… mystery…

All trustworthy… because of His love…

I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindess, because You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul, and You have not given me over to the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a large place.

Psalm 31:7-8 NASB

The storm reminds… He has not descended on me as my sins deserve…

Knowing all the trouble I’ve stirred up for myself…

He still loves…

And because of His love… He has set me free…

In His love… I need not fear…

Praying you’ve received His love… in a way where storms… no longer stir fear… but praise…
