Somehow we need to reclaim the “goodnewsness” of the gospel, and the best place to start is to rediscover the good news ourselves.
–Philip Yancey, Vanishing Grace
A read while away… leads me to consider… How is He good news to me…? And… Does my life reflect the truth of His good news to others…?
I consider the ways He has been good news to me…
First… I remember the relief… comfort… thanks… I felt when the news was relayed to me… my mom trusted Him… as she lay dying…
He was good news to her… therefore He was the best news to me…
I began following Him… the source of the good news she knew…
He revealed my need for Him…
He revealed His great love for me…
He revealed Himself as greater than any fear…
Revealed Himself through forgiveness… through finding uses for me…
And over and over… in each new day… so many ways…
He is good news… the only Good News…
But still I wonder… Do I let Him shine His goodnewsness through me…?
Or do I fail to be a light… a voice… for who He is…?
Reminding myself of the exceptional good news of His grace… is the first step in sharing it with others…
And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus…
Acts 13:32-33 ESV
What about you…?
How is He good news to you…?
