–Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (11th Ed.)
It’s Memorial Day in the US…
A day to remember those who died fighting for our country…
A day to remember those who gave their lives… on behalf of others…
A day to remember… war heroes…
So I think about the One who fought the greatest battle… with the greatest love…
“…Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. …” –Jesus
John 15:13 ESV
The One who won… the unseen battle… the spiritual war waging… of which we only see its effects…
The One who lay down His life… only to take it up again… that we might live… and love… like Him…
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” –Jesus
Luke 22:19
For those who know… it’s a call… to live… in memorial of Him…
So others might see… and live too…
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
