Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Confession time…
There are so many things I hope for… which I do not currently see…
But I’m not so great at waiting with patience…
I pray and pray…
And nothing seems to happen…
So I realize… perhaps I do not know what to pray for as I ought…
Surrendering today… to the unseen hope… and the intercession of the Spirit… to groan on my behalf…
I confess…
He knows… I don’t…
And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.
