Watching TV… I see the tomb of the unknown soldier… its words written bold…
HERE RESTS IN HONORED GLORY
AN AMERICAN SOLDIER
KNOWN BUT TO GOD
The questions come to mind…
Can you fathom not knowing everything…?
Can you fathom One who knows all…?
I wonder… Am I OK… with things I will never know…? and I think I am… because believing in Him… you understand there is so much out there bigger than you…
KNOWN BUT TO GOD…
I wonder if this question would turn those who think they have to know all to believe… to consider the reality there will always be unknowns… and maybe… just maybe… open a heart a bit to seek the One who knows…
The question has the ring of a hammer and chisel coming down on a hard heart… Can you accept your finitude…?
Then the second question… Is there One who knows all…?
By faith I believe there is… and in Him I find great comfort…
KNOWN BUT TO GOD…
There are no unsettling mysteries in the universe when you know the One who knows all is solid as a rock… sovereign in all things… and as trustworthy as each day’s sunrise…
He is the only One trustworthy with the unknowns…
But what about those who don’t know…?
If they can’t fathom not knowing everything…? could they ever fathom One who does…?
Faith is… being sure of what you hope for… and certain of what you do not see…
It is trusting Him who knows everything there is to know… while fully accepting… everything we know is limited…
It is a great place to be… at rest in Him…
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
