re-member Him…

It’s Thursday before Easter…

One day before He hangs on the cross…

The night He ate His last supper with His disciples…

“I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. For the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!”

Luke 22:15-22 ESV

He knew He would suffer…

He knew He would be betrayed…

Just hours before it all began…

He took the bread… His body to be broken… and gave thanks…

He took the cup… His blood to be poured out… and gave thanks…

Do this in remembrance of Me…

He calls us to do the same…

Join Him in communion… in the building of His Kingdom…

Give thanks for the body you’ve been given… be broken… to re-member His love for others…

Give thanks for your blood… allow Him to pour it out… in re-membering Him in the salvation of others…

Do this in remembrance of Him…

“… Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. …”

John 13:16-17 ESV
