I wonder at His faithfulness… in the call to write… the words He provides… to make it to this number… 2000 posts published… on Jeremiah’s Menu…
I’m not that faithful…
I don’t do things this long… not in my flesh…
That’s how I know it’s His not mine…
His continued faithfulness…
This morning in Samuel… I read…
Thus Samuel grew and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fail.
1Samuel 3:19 NASB
The note attached to “fail” caught my eye…
The literal meaning of the Hebrew translated “fail” is… “fall to the ground”… giving a strong visual…
Thus Samuel grew and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.
The Lord… being with Samuel… made sure… Samuel’s words were true… accurate… faith-full… impact-full… not empty…
God alone… made Samuel grow in faithfulness… made his words meaning-full…
And I can’t help but think about His faithfulness here… in providing words…
Whatever is good… whatever is true… it comes from Him… not me…
My heart desires to return the blessing… be as faithful to Him as He is to me…
I can see where I’ve let His words to me fall to the ground… rather than being faithful in obedience…
My spirit is willing… yet my flesh in its weakness… continues to fail…
Moving on from 2000 posts… I pray I will not let His words to me fall to the ground… but catch them… act on them… in joyful obedience…
Lord… how grateful I am for Your presence with me… How humbled You find any use for me… Your grace in my faithlessness leaves me wordless… Grow me Lord… as only You can… to never let Your words to me… fall… to… the… ground…
