It’s been a day… one that didn’t go quite according to my plan…
But with the setting sun… come revelations…
A revelation of joy… despite how the day began… and continued with its challenges…
A revelation regarding the pruning He’s doing… which may actually be contributing to the joy…
A memory comes to mind… on this day after teaching second-grade Bible in the after school children’s ministry at church… with all its rowdiness…
Way back in the day… a quarter century or so ago… I served during vacation Bible school every summer for several years…
Each year… when the crazy week was over… I’d say… Vacation Bible School reminds me I was not meant to be a teacher…
The revelation tied to the memory today… is pruning one ministry from my life… so I can go deeper… into another…
Teaching…
Every week now… for several years… I’ve taught elementary-age children Bible…
This school year… I also agreed to teach Senior High Sunday School…
Plus we continue the teaching of ladies Bible studies at the shop twice a week… most of the year…
In addition… we are currently writing the studies we share with the ladies…
Apparently I was WRONG… when I thought I was not meant to be a teacher…
He certainly had a different plan… preparing me along the way to do just that… teach His Word… to the hungry… and those who aren’t…
Funny how He works His purpose into our lives… despite what we think…
It’s been my experience… His calling on your life is rarely anything you would have thought of yourself… or even wanted to do if you were told it was coming…
And maybe that’s the point… you’ll have to admit it was all Him… not you…
But when it comes… when He reveals what He’s been up to all along… well… glory…
What a joy…!
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Open your heart to follow Him… because you just never know… what He wants to reveal… in and through you…
