a divided season…

Christmas is the only Christian holy day that is also a major secular holiday — arguably our culture’s biggest. …

As a Christian believer, I am glad to share the virtues of the day with the entirety of society. …

–Timothy Keller, Hidden Christmas

I came across Timothy Keller’s words about Christmas several years ago… and they come to mind afresh this year…

It was a revelation to me then… the understanding of both a secular Christmas… AND… a holy Christmas…

But I’ve found it to be true…

Jeremiahs Menu-Divided Season-Christmas

This Christmas the truth behind the season has been forefront in my heart… when before the secular often took precedence…

The joy of remembering the heart of His coming… overshadowing the expectations of decorating and buying… all the things the world has made it…

As Keller points out… Christmas is an opportunity for Believers to introduce unbelievers… to the Truth of this holy-day…

If you are a Believer… recognize Christmas is a divided season… choose to embrace the holy-day… and beware getting caught up in the secular expectations…

But don’t miss an opportunity to share the truth with one who might not see it so clearly… or may be missing it altogether…

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 ESV
