The sister at the shop says… I have a word for 2018…
And it reminds me… I have a word for 2017… and words for the past several years… but I’ve not thought about this year’s word in a while… which leaves me wondering if I’ll have one for the new year…
Her reminding of the one word spiritual discipline… causes me to reflect on the year…
My 2017 word… Light…
I discover… where I might have forgotten to focus on the word intentionally throughout the year… He hasn’t…
Looking back… I see where He used His Light to reveal dark things in me… things I’d have rather left unseen…
But that’s what His Light does… reveals…
Yet… with each embracing of the revelation of darkness within… He brings transformation… healing… if we are willing to repent…
So where the year began with a focus on light as illumination… I sense His moving to a different definition of light in my spirit…
I feel… light-er…
Not as in brighter… but less heavy… less burdened…
Spiritually… I feel light…
Lighter than I did at the beginning of the year… maybe ever…
Though Christmas has not passed… and you may not want to think about the coming year yet… perhaps you could begin asking Him for a word for 2018… one He wants to use in your life… when you’re paying attention… and when you’re not…
You see… He is faithful… to complete what He starts… even when we aren’t…
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6 ESV
What a great… great… God we have…
