For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
2Corinthians 5:10
I did some judging today…
Judging Christmas parade floats… not alone but with others…
I’ve never judged a contest before… and wondered beforehand… if it was something I should do… it felt weird… being one deciding the best…
Some would ask as we walked through the floats before the parade… What are you doing…?
Judging…
And the look on their faces changed… one asked with a smile… How much would it cost to win…?
Countenances changed as soon as they knew… we were judging…
The best part… was watching the presentation of the awards… done shortly before the parade began…
Most in their places on the float… waiting for things to begin… unaware they were about to hear the news of judgment…
One couple completely surprised… smiles wide… as they accepted their award… and were photographed with presenters…
I think about the joy the faithful will have that day… hearing… Well done… good and faithful servant…
A day to be filled with joy for some… for others… not so much…
In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth…
Luke 13:28 ESV
Judgment… it’s a moment each of us will face…
What do you want to hear…?
