He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

He is our Rescuer… Deliverer… from an enemy who hates… and is mightier than we…
We are unable to free ourselves… try as we might… we fail…
I see who He is in these verses… more powerful than our enemy… support in the day of calamity… He delivers us out of trouble into a broad place of freedom…
And the most wonderful thing… He does it all… because He delights in His people…
He delights in His creatures… even though they’ve gone rebellious… and the trouble they get in is of their own making…
Still… He delights…
What a wonder…
I feel a bit in need of rescuing this evening… struggling after a full day… with plenty left to do…
Feeling a bit rebellious… causing my own trouble…
Heart stirred up… emotions unsettled… in need of support… and there He is… delighting in me…
What a wonderful truth… at the end of a stirred up day…
