wondering where He was… in the whatever…

Wondering where I saw Him today… on this whatever sort of day… a day of doing whatever came next…

The busy-ness of the day went from making coffee… unloading the dishwasher… to daily routines… including cleaning the kitty litter box… at one point my husband beckoned me out to see the sunrise… this was how the day started…

Finally out the door… and to the shop… making my way across the parking lot… a young woman in need… smiling… made a request… I supplied her need as best I could… and did as I believed He said…

In the shop door… the whatever-came-next continued… orders for the day to finish… a couple of problems to wrap up… follow ups from the day before… and an urgent need for credit card machine paper…

A time for lunch… then off to the next… new orders to start… working out problems… answering phone calls… helping customers…

The whatever continued through the afternoon… into the evening with sewing lessons… a joy to see ladies learn… and an extra little one to watch all the doings… then closing things up… out the door… headed home…

And I ask Him along the way… Is there anything to write today…?

Listening… I don’t hear much…

Unload the car… sit… listen… and as I begin to write about wondering where I saw Him today… I see

He was behind the sunrise… and the thoughts it inspired of His glory …

He was in the smile of the woman in need… and guiding me what to give…

He was in the peace… felt during the doing whatever-came-next… from new problems… to unfinished tasks…

He was there as the little one read Scripture written on the shop wall… in her sweet little voice… Let the words of my mouth… and the meditation of my heart… be acceptable in your sight… O Lord… my rock…

And I wonder at how I missed Him… quietly alongside me through the waves of whatever…

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 ESV

This is His promise… and He always keeps His promises… so if you think you didn’t see Him today… I challenge you… review your waves of whatever-came-next… and see if He comes into view…

He’s there… He promises…
