the ekklesia…

ekklesia… Greek… a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place, an assembly… an assembly of Christians gathered to worship in a religious meeting…

–Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon

Ekklesia… the Greek translated in the New Testament as… church

We had a gathering at the shop this morning… an ekklesia of sisters journeying through the Word…

Currently we are in Leviticus… a hard read for most… and each week as I prepare to lead… I wonder… What in the world will we glean from this…?

Today was just a wonder… of what happens when the church gathers…

One sister she says… I’m sorry… but I just have to tell you I’m distracted by joy… Joy bubbles in my heart… I just want to sit in it and keep it…

And another… has a revelation of what’s happening in her home… as the discussion deepens… into the cleansing of a leper… and a leprous house…

As we’ve been talking… I now see clearly what’s going on… I do not have to let it oppress me… He is already victorious…

It’s a wonder what happens when His people gather… and prayerfully… humbly… let His Word speak to them… form them…

The ekklesia… it is supernatural… opening up eyes to wondrous things in His law…

As we break up… go our separate ways… not one… but two say… I so look forward to Friday mornings…

Ekklesia… church… His people gathered in His name… under His lordship… make for a very thin place… it’s where we press right up against heaven… and His presence enlightens the way…

So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

1Corinthians 14:12 ESV
