As I begin my morning… these words are on my mind…
The spirit is willing… the flesh is weak…
These are Jesus’s words to His disciples… a warning to stay awake… for He was about to be taken away…
They did not heed His warning… eyes heavy… they slept…
The spirit is willing… the flesh is weak…
I hear it come with a call to pray… watch… beware the call of the flesh…
When it comes to living in Christ… walking with His Spirit… the battle comes down to… willing vs weak…
This is probably where I’ve failed most lately… giving into weak flesh… ignoring my willing spirit…
You’ve heard it said… The road to hell is paved with good intentions…
I see this is how it happens… hearing the Spirit speak to your spirit… capturing a vision… hearing a call… but never following through… other things seem urgent… distractions creep in…
The vision remains… willingness lingers… but the weak flesh wins…
Only by exercising spiritual muscles… can we overcome the flesh…
So today I will watch… pray… lead me not into temptation… and choose willing… over… weak…
Not because I can… but because He can…
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
