A recent conversation about worship has me wondering at my passion… my holy discontent… regarding the need for worship to meet our needs…
When we approach worship with eyes focused on what we need… guess what…? we are worshiping ourselves… not Him…
Instead of bowing before Him… we wait to see if the service bows before us…
Instead of coming with a heart to please Him… we are only looking to see if what we hear pleases us…
No matter the worship style… a heart prepared for worship… will fix its eyes on Him…
A heart prepared for worship sees what’s been prepared by the worship leaders as for God… not us…
The question to ask is… Was God blessed in this place…? not… Was I blessed in this place…?
I can assure you… if you come to worship with eyes fixed on Him… you will be blessed…
Amen…
