A small job… became a big battle…
You know the kind… the one you think… I can do this in just a few minutes… move on to the next thing… then the next thing you know… it’s five hours later and you’re wondering what the heck went wrong…
The job came with a deadline… today… it was not one I could put off… I said I would… so I continued when I wanted to quit… give it a rest… come back tomorrow…
It was an exercise in PERSEVERANCE…
persevere… to persist in a state, enterprise, or undertaking in spite of counterinfluences, opposition, or discouragement…

Trying and retrying to get it right… figure out what was wrong… make it right… when suddenly… I see one more thing to try… one more change to make which had not yet been made…
There it was…! revelation… correction… the one step needed to complete the job…
Had I not stayed under… not persevered… given up… I’m not sure I would’ve seen the answer…
And I think about what it takes to persevere spiritually… in His Word… following His Way… seeking understanding…
There are times we may want to walk away from what He’s called us to… shut the Word… because it just doesn’t make sense…
But if we will persevere… revelation will come…
Those who ask receive… those who seek find… those who keep on knocking and knocking… the door will be opened…
Perseverance… it pays off… both in the temporal… and eternal…
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
