Good Friday… part two… what He suffered for you…
And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now His betrayer had given them a signal saying, “Whoever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely.”
Mark 14:43-44 NKJV
And Judas kissed… then they swooped down on Jesus… bound Him… and led Him away…
All His disciples scattered… like sheep without a shepherd…
And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes…
Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying, “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.'” But not even then did their testimony agree. …

Jesus stood silent during the accusations… lies… perverted testimony… and then the high priest asked…
“Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”
Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds in heaven.”
Mark 14:61-62 NKJV
That was the proof they were looking for… Blasphemy…! they called it…
What was the truth… they saw as a lie…
And they all condemned Him to be deserving death.
Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.
Mark 14:64-65 NKJV
And His own church beat Him… because they didn’t like the truth…
What about you…? have you beaten Him…? by calling His truth… His Word… a lie…? perhaps because it doesn’t agree with what you think should be true…?
