The preacher goes on to compare what we see left of Adam after the Fall… as comparable to a train after a train wreck…
Sin wrecked all creation…
For a moment I wondered if I agreed with him… so many have said over and over… we are created in God’s image… and that’s why we have value…
And I think about what he said… because I do believe we are wrecked… nothing in us righteous from the get go… we are born ungodly… and that’s why Jesus came…
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
Romans 5:6 ESV
Ungodly… those unlike God… those contrary to moral law… the exact opposite of God…
The only reason we have value… is because God loves us… even as total wrecks… He loves us enough to die for us…
I have to agree… we are not in God’s image… only Adam was for a time… and one day… we will see what we were intended to be…
Although it took only one man to wreck the whole of creation… the good news is… it takes only one Man to make the way to redeem all creation…
For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19 ESV
And because of Jesus… all the wrecked… are worthy of the love of those who are on the way to full redemption already…
