I wish I’d taken a before and after shot… but I didn’t realize how bad it was before… until after…
My car was serviced today… I chose to have them clean the windows and vacuum the car… because these are things I rarely do myself… clean the car windows… and vacuum the car…
When the service was done… I got in the car… and WOW…! suddenly… I was seeing clearly… no glare… no streaks… no smudges to look through… just a clean clear window…
And I thought about the build up of dirt on our souls… the windshield of our heart… and how sin dulls our vision…
The problem is… we don’t really know we can’t see… we get used to the dingy view…
My windshield was not so dirty I couldn’t see… I would’ve done something then… when the dirt accumulates little by little… we don’t know our vision is impaired…
The same is true for our hearts…
Living in a sinful world… if we aren’t careful… spiritual dirt builds up imperceptibly… our discernment is dulled… and what once was clearly black and white… becomes gray…
The cure for cleaning the window of our soul… is time with Him… in His Word… in prayer… in praise and worship… because when we come into the Light… the darkness in our lives become evident… conviction reveals the smudges… the slights… and a heart of repentance… makes all things clear…
Take some time today… open up the Word… prayerfully draw near the Light… ask Him to help you see clearly… because… WOW…! seeing clearly changes your whole perspective…
