judgment…

The summons for jury duty was today… the judge and the lawyers inform us… we are the ones to give judgment…

The jury judges who is telling the truth… and who is not…

Fortunately… I was 52 out of 53 potential jurors for this criminal case… after questions by the lawyers… and elimination of jurors… the first six in the pool would define the jury…

I was pretty confident they would not strike 45 or so jurors ahead of me… so I sat back and entered the process…

The prosecutor asked… Are you comfortable making a judgment…? coming to a guilty or innocent verdict…?

I considered the question… and realized… Yes… unfortunately… I am comfortable making judgments… I do it each and every day…

A bit convicted… I have to admit… often I don’t even hesitate to judge what someone says… and by the end of the questioning of the jurors by the lawyers… I had already made a judgment…

Good thing I was so far back in the jury pool… and good thing… the world doesn’t depend on my judgment…

And praise God… His judgment is ALWAYS… perfect…

The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge!

Psalm 50:6 ESV
