it’s just wonderful…

Just after the service began… I saw him at the opposite end of the pew… no one between us…

A friend… who befriended me… a relationship built on moments after worship on Sundays…

I haven’t seen him in several months… his wife of more than fifty years has been in the nursing home… this last week she died…

This friend… he’s a retired pastor… I didn’t hear about the service for his wife till after it was over or I would’ve gone…

So I see him this morning… and after a moment’s hesitation… I move the fifteen or so feet down the pew to sit next to him…

I give him a hug… we exchange greetings… I say… I’m sorry about your wife…

And his response surprises… It’s just wonderful…

The service progresses… so our brief conversation ends… but I’m left with his words… It’s just wonderful

This man of faith sees the wonder of our Savior… death is not the end but a wonder-full beginning…

Following Him… it’s just wonder-full

Full of wonder… He died to save us…

Full of wonder… His Spirit lives in us…

Full of wonder… His people will all be gathered together again…

Yes… It’s… just… wonderful…!

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.

Isaiah 25:1 ESV
